Pottery dish by Dirk Staf - Havelte
Daniël (Dirk) Staf (Gorinchem 1921 – Hoogeveen 1971) was a ceramist, painter, draftsman, pen artist, ornamental sculptor and monumental artist. He was educated at academies in Paris and Brussels. He worked in Gorinchem, Brussels, Paris, St. Pons en Vallauris, The Hague, Assen, Koekange (De Wolden) and in the 1960s he had his pottery “De Peppel” in a converted historic farm in Havelte.
This mid century pottery bowl is probably made in Havelte by Dirk Staf. It is clearly signed at the bottom and in good condition. There are no chips or cracks and it is a lovely heavy bowl with amazing texture and colors.
